The design of the various information material, like print media and information steles, accompany visitors from all nations throughout their tour through the site of the Ravensbrück Memorial, as well as in the new visitors’ centre. The relationship between the meaning and gravity of the site, and the visual language, which had to be found was a particular challenge. The contrasting of an objective and cautious appearance with sensitive details and material characteristics generates an addressing of the visitors, appropriate to the Ravensbrück Memorial, without being superficially “designed”.
