On behalf of Atelier Markgraph, unit-design created the exhibits for DaimlerChrysler’s appearance at Expo 2000. Unlike many other themed pavilions in the world exhibition, this locale does not offer answers to the question of how the future will be shaped. Instead it demonstrates potentials that are themselves to be discovered and experienced. This project, geared specifically to youngsters, focused on the interaction with its environment and technology and revealed the latest interface technologies for trialling. As well as high-tech exhibits such as the controlled software application ‘Eyetracker’ or the ‘Voice Tracked Game’, a labyrinth game controlled by 8 players per speech input, there were also a host of exhibits that demonstrated directly and sensuously how hand, eye, ear and body are able to perceive and communicate.
