The new headquarters of Central Chinese Television designed by Rem Koolhaas/OMA is currently considered a future icon of world architecture. In view of the opening scheduled for 2008, CCTV staged a competition to which internationally renowned corporate design and signage experts were invited.
In addition to creating a fresh image, the building and signage system had to be designed from scratch. Together with Studio Dumbar, which holds the responsibility for Corporate Design, unit-design devised a programme for branding and signage measures that takes a synergetic look at the expression and materiality used in OMA’s design.
